Welcome to our Journey!!

Hey there and welcome to our blog on all things going on in our family. We wanted to start out by introducing ourselves and why we created this space. We aren’t really sure of what this blog will look like in the next few weeks or months, but we wanted to keep everyone updated on our journey in and out of the NICU. But to begin, here is a little bit about each of us.

My name is London. I am 30 at the time of writing this, but will be 31 within the next few months. I grew up in Northwest Indiana. I attended college at Southwest Baptist University where I met and fell in love with my husband, Jaron. We started dating in 2013, and then rest is history.

Jaron, is my husband. He is originally from Florida, but moved to the Lake of the Ozarks when he was in seventh grade. Like I said above, he attended Southwest Baptist University and graduated with a ministry degree. He is currently the Executive Pastor at Calvary Chapel Lake of the Ozarks.

We were blessed with our oldest daughter, Leighton, in September of 2020. It was kinda nice to not have to work while pregnant with her. I took lots of naps and relaxed as I wanted too. She is very smart and very caring, but she will for sure hold her own.

In the spring of 2022, we lost a baby. We really thought we would never recover from that. We bought a sign for our house that reads, “He is still good.” What a great reminder that even in that hardest times, God is still good and has a plan.

Well, that plan came in March of 2023 when we had our second daughter, Blakely. She was such an easy pregnancy and birth. I should have known that she was going to be our wild child. I like to say that she loves fiercely.

What a surprise it was for us when found out in the spring of 2024 that we were expecting again. (Yes, we understand how this works.) Jaron actually knew before I did. This third baby has been quite a surprise the whole time. Her due date was estimated a month earlier than I had thought, we thought she was going to be a boy, and now, we find out she has a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH). More on that in a follow up blog. This baby is surely a surprise in every way.

So that is our family. Now, you might be wondering why did you create the blog. Well, there are three reasons:

1. Since we found out, the support, love, and care has been overwhelming in a good way, and we want to be honest and open with everyone through this journey (without have to repeat ourselves 100 times in a day). We are thankful for everyone who has prayed, donated, made us meals, and texted and called.

2. This is a journey, and we want to bring you along with us. There might be people that you run into who might be going through something similar, and we would love to be a resource for them. Again, we are not perfect and don’t know anything, but we would love to walk alongside others as they have come alongside us.

3. Finally and most importantly, we want to be a light to those who might be going through a hard time. This has not been an easy journey so far, but God holds the future and we are trusting in Him during this time and for the rest of our lives. We have talked so many times about how people can do this without God, and we couldn’t even imagine it.

Coming up…

In the next post, we will be talking about the CDH diagnosis, and how we got to where we are.
